The main tasks of the State Unitary Enterprise «Television and Radio Channel «O’zbekiston» are:

- all-round and objective informing the population of the country, as well as foreign public on the most important decisions of public authorities in the field of domestic and foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on ongoing reforms in the country's democratization, renovation and modernization, aimed to creating a democratic state and open civil society, protection of the rights and freedom of the person;

- wide coverage of socio-political and socio-economic problems of national importance such as issues of economic development, agriculture, business development, farming, health, education, culture and other spheres of social life;

- preparation of TV and radio programs, directed at wide discussing the issues in improving the educational level and the political and legal culture of the people, expression of their opinion on the most important aspects of the socio-political and socio-economic life of the country;

- organization of socially significant, humanitarian and educational broadcasting, to preserve the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the people, develop the folklore and ethnological traditions, acquaintance with the best of national and world literature, music, theater, film, visual arts.
