From the reliable sources of the State Archives of Bukhara region, the first radio broadcasts in Bukhara commenced on from 20 years of the last centuries.
In accordance with the journals of the working presidium of Bukhara okrug executive committee of the 23rd of October, 1927 it was issued the decree on installation of radio. From the material s of the Archives, in compliance with the special protocol on installation of radio of Bukhara okrug of 27/01/1930 the New Bukhara, Gijuvan district, settlement Bakhouddin are recognized as exemplary areas and passed the decree on necessity of installation at these settlement 200 radio points.
In 1928-1933 in accordance with the 5 year plan of installation of radio it was decided to establish on the areas of the region 11995 radio points.
In the thirties of the 20th century one of the founders of Bukhara radio at the same time acting editor and announcer Saidjon Karimov made his big contribution to development of this branch.
In 1940-1950 for development of activity of the Bukhara radio Khabib Abdullaev and Alexander Shneyderman selflessly worked.
Taking into consideration the multi-nationality of the population of Bukhara region the radio programs for the first years of the activity were broadcast in two languages Uzbek and Russian. From 1961 the editorship of Tajik broadcasting started its activity and from 1981 the editorship of Kazakh broadcasting did.

From September, 2007 Amrullo Beshimov is at the head of the TV and Radio Company.
The first TV programs prepared by the production personnel in honor of 675 anniversary of Bakhouddin Nakshbandi were broadcast in three languages Uzbek, Russian and Tajik in September, 1993. And the first TV programs of Bukhara regional TV and Radio Company on the 13th of March, 1994.
Nowadays the Radio broadcasts of Bukhara regional TV and Radio Company are put on the air on the FM 102 Channel daily for an hour and 36 minutes of duration in three languages-Uzbek, Russian and Tajik.
The programs of the “BUXORO” television channel go on the air daily from 07:00 to 24:00 in the areas of Bukhara, Navoiy, Kashkadarya regions and the neighboring areas of the Republic of Turkmenistan.
At present time 68 employees work in Bukhara regional TV and Radio Company. 35 of them are production personnel.
Television and radio broadcasts basically consist of social and political news, region and republic spiritual life, music and artistic, publicistic, spiritual and elucidative programs.
In compliance with the regulation of the Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On complex technical reequipment of the system of the national TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan” of August 25, 1997 under # 412. The national TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan completed the work on providing the Bukhara regional TV and Radio Company with the modern television and technical equipment entered the investment program under the treaty concluded with the “SIMENS AG” company in 2006.
At the present time the building of the Bukhara regional TV and Radio Company is under sequential thorough repairs
