The regional editorship of local radio programs was commenced on December 1, 1946. The initial radio broadcasting was carried out with T-44 microphones. All radio programs were transmitted from the Karshi radio dispatching station. In 1964, a committee of the TV and radio broadcasting of Kashkadarya region was founded.
News, socio-economic, spiritual and educational and literary and artistic editorships were organized in the TV and Radio of the Region. The Chairman of the Company is actually an editor, and the members consist of specialists, scientists, and known professionals. Firstly, this provides journalists to specialize in this field and secondly, it gives an opportunity to elaborate the topic fully and unprejudiced.
The TV of Kashkadarya region was formed in 1995. In this occasion, regional radio shifted to a new radio house. A new generation of the radio journalism will form in the new radio house. At present, measures are planned on enhancing technical opportunities of improving the level of radio broadcasting.
Under the initiative of the Regional Administration, new modern TV Centre was built for the regional television. By the Resolution #412 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the TV Centre was equipped with up-to-date technologies by the German firm «BFE Studio und Medien Systeme».
A creative cooperation is established among the regional TV and radio companies. Especially, there is a mutual exchange of the best TV programs among the Samarkand and Namangan regional TVs. Besides that, in assistance of the International center on retraining of journalists, German TV and radio programs of Deutsche Welle are being recorded from the satellite and regularly broadcast on the air.
