In the Surkhan-Darya area local broadcasting for the first time has been adjusted in 1947. In 1952 Management of broadcasting function in structure of the Regional department of culture, and since 1954 began to be called as the Regional radio-information department. In June, 1958 the department has been included in structure of Republican State committee on TV and broadcasting, and began to be called as Regional Main edition of broadcasting.

 

Since October, 16, 1990 the Regional TV began to give out in an ether 2-3 times a week trial programs accompanied by musical credits under the name «Shows the Surkhandarya TV ».
